John Clang's exploration of shifting time in urban landscapes seems a lot less political - but then again may be I politicised Sam's work in my own head because the subject matter is a lot closer to my heart.

Sam Kang Li's work on Multipl-city:
But I would argue that the fragmented figures in Clang's work doesn't help evoke any intimacy - the jarring cut outs is anything but subtle perhaps. To that end, Sam's work technical execution is perhaps more successful in accomplishing that, although it does lack the layered depth of Clang's.
